On this Wedding Wednesday, we’re swooning over designer collections from fashion week…and we think designs and details from the RTW collections would make a beautiful transition from runway to aisle. Pay attention you 2012 brides…

Happy Fashion Friday!
So being the shoe-aholic that I am, and this being the week my sister is getting married, I found it appropriate for a wedding shoe post!
When I was looking for wedding shoes, I found myself going towards the unconventional – not the white, “typical” wedding shoes that I seemed to find everywhere (not that there is anything wrong with typical wedding shoes). I went for 2 pairs of shoes – 1 new (Valentino) for my new dress, and the other I had in my closet (Bakers) that I wore with my grandmother’s dress. My black and white, winter, old-fashioned wedding lended itself to just that for shoes – black and white, winter, old fashioned.
I say that if you want to wear blue shoes on your wedding day (for your “something blue”) … do it! If you want beautiful Cinderella sparkly shoes … do it! I have been seeing some unique wedding shoes {see the pink pumps below} perfect for a garden wedding. It is your day and you need to feel unique and special in your dress, shoes, and skin.
There are a couple shoes from Nordstrom that I love for a wedding dress! Whether your wedding is summer, spring, fall, or winter – you can find a shoe that fits your wedding day, dress, and personality. Keep looking. I know it can be tiring, but stick in there! You found your soul mate … now find your sole mate 🙂

missoni for target
Exciting news for you fashionista’s on a budget…THE luxurious Italian designer that I LOVE, Missoni, is now designing a 400-piece collection for Target. Missoni is affordable…what? Yes, you heard me. YOU can buy some cute things without going into serious debt. Glad I spent a fortune on a Missoni scarf in Italy a year ago {with the horrible exchange rate}. If I only knew…
Below are some of my faves from the line. Mark you calendar for Sept. 13 when the collection is on sale – it only lasts until October 22 or until supplies are gone. Clothing and home decor {$30 for pillows, $13 for towels, dishes from $3-$20}…I know I’ll be in line at my local Target.

another anniversary to note
I’ve been celebrating another anniversary this past week…a special one that comes once a year…the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Next season on sale NOW. Gotta love that, especially at a place like Nordstrom where the word “sale” does not often appear.
I’m a total Nordy’s girl, so I’ve been scoping out the sale online and in the stores. Here’s the {reasonable} things I’ve been eyeing. The {unreasonable…or in other words, way out of my budget} items is a whole different post, but believe me, I have some noted.
If you haven’t already been, make yourself a hot date at Nordy’s and go NOW. You deserve it. Items will go back to their original prices August 1.
Happy shopping.

white out
Happy Fashion Friday!
In honor of my annual “Party on the Porch” I am hosting tonight with my dear friends (white attire requested, benefitting the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America) … today’s fashion Friday is about fabulous white summer outfits (rocked by men and women)!
I admit, I could not wait until memorial day weekend so that I could go out and wear more white! I know that I am not alone when I see fashionable women everyday wear their white jeans with great summer tops and great nude summer pumps. I just love wearing white – it looks so clean, so put together and so fresh. Either splash your outfit with white by wearing a fashionable fedora hat, pumps, or clutch purse … or rock a white dress or white jeans with a white top for a full white outfit. If you rock an all-white outfit, I highly recommend a bright colorful clutch or pumps – so cute!
To shop for affordable outfits, I’ve seen really cute white dresses at J. Crew, white tops at Nordstrom, and cute white jeans at Urban Outfitters and Gap. Great, more expensive designer brands for bags, shoes and accessories would be Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Coach and L.A.M.B.
If you would like to donate to The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, please contact Jenna at Fleur de Lis or go to www.ccfa.org. Thank you for all the people coming out to support the foundation by attending our annual Party on the Porch tonight!
