Nicole is a DIY expert and puts every ounce of herself, her love and her creativity into planning parties. So when her only son, Jason turned 3 and wanted a construction vehicle themed party…she put her creative hardhat on and went to work. From designing and creating the amazing 3 dimensional invitations, baking and decorating her own cake and dessert table to the adorable ‘boxes of rocks’ and favors, she left no detail aside.The party was colorful, classic and more fun than any 3 year old could have asked for!

Birth Photography and Video

Jenna Walker Photographers, as you know, is one of our all-time favorite Colorado wedding photographers.
{I feel very lucky to have worked with them personally for my own wedding!}

Jenna and her hubby, Matt, recently welcomed another baby girl, Hattie, into their adorable family. We are so thrilled to share beautiful Hattie’s birth story on our blog today. The emotional photographs will touch you and bring tears to your eyes.

Country Vintage Wedding

Goin’ to the chapel {or backyard} and we’re gonna get married

Jordan and Justin had a simple, rustic, backyard country wedding in May 2012.
Married on a perfectly sunny day at the groom’s farm in Oklahoma, this couple went 100% country!

Kids Carnival Party Ideas

Jennings King Photography captured this colorful, carnival themed birthday party in Meggett, South Carolina.

Thank you, Alison, for sharing your fun DIY party details with us!

Thankfully, I come from a DIY family! My mom and my aunt made all of my ideas come to life.We went with vibrant carnival colors – red, aqua and yellow. We had a carnival game room for the kids to win tickets and pick out prizes. Most of the games only cost us a few dollars to put together – using colorful wrapping paper and soda bottles for the ‘Straight Shot” and “Ring Toss” and we painted an ocean scene on a sheet for “Go Fishing”. The kids had a blast winning their tickets and left with their bags full of prizes, mostly from the Dollar Tree, Oriental Trading and Party City.

Games, prizes, popcorn, cotton candy, balloon animals, pony rides, a jumping castle – we wanted it all!

 

 


In lieu of gifts, we asked for donations to our local Ronald McDonald House and we were able to raise $710.00 for their charity! I ordered personalized fortune cookies that we hand dipped in two types of chocolate and then rolled in sprinkles…inside each cookie was a Thank You message for their donations.

‘Carnaval De Emery’ was a huge hit!

If you could travel anywhere in the world to get engaged or take your engagement photos, where would it be?

Mine would have to be in a sunflower field in Tuscany, Italy.
With sunflowers covering the hills as far as the eye could see… and mountains in the distance. No people, no cars, just me, my love and flowers {and no bees!}

Melvin Gilbert Photography captured Letizia and Tim’s gorgeous engagement session in Paris. So simple and incredibly romantic.
