Real Housewives of Denver Bachelorette Party Ideas, Part 2

{continued…}

The erotic food was home-made and delicious.

For dessert, we offered Orgasmic Desserts – cupcakes with custom-made toppers {from Fleur de Lis, a paperie}, Jodi’s favorite candy Milk Duds, cinnamon bears and Red Vines. And, it wouldn’t be complete without a male body-part {the naughty body part) cake. 🙂

The stocked bar was a popular gathering spot for the ladies. Vodka cranberry, SkinnyGirl Margarita created by a housewife of New York City, Bethenny Frankel and red and white wine. And, water in between drinks was essential to help us with our hangover. Custom labels were designed by none other than Jenna, at Fleur de Lis, a paperie.

Every gal received fabulous party fare. Animal print bandannas stuffed inside personalized cups were essentials for the night ~ a cup to drink in one hand, and the bandanna on the lap to prevent stains on our festive outfits from the yummy food.

And, inside vintage cigar boxes lined with cheetah print, were animal print goody bags that contained hair spray for new jersey-style big hair, a condom, a recipe from real housewife of New Jersey, Therese Guidice cookbook, appropriately titled “the quickie,” and gum for minty fresh breath for
our evening out on the town.

You can never have enough animal print. Pillows from Jodi’s bed at home-made for a wild and cozy addition on the couch.

Between the drinks, decor, food, naughty and nice games and a video {made with love and A LOT of time from Jenna} a mini-dance party, a surprise limo and stop at an all male revue late in to the night and early morning ~ it was a party to remember.

back to school

I remember the rush of trying to read my summer reading list in one week {before the first day of school}, the anxiety of seeing my crush on the first day, the stress of picking out the perfect outfit, posing for my mom’s annual first day of school photo shoot in the front yard and the sadness that endless summer days were over.

I am still so thankful my school days are over. I still have nightmares I can’t find my locker or I show up naked to school!

But, maybe had I been invited {or hosted} a Back to School party, I would’ve been more excited to go back to school. I want to throw one just for the heck of it these ideas are so cute!

lookin’ forward to the hangover

This week, the ladies are preparing outfits, decor ideas and cocktails for my Bachelorette party while the boys are preparing their livers for Drew’s Bachelor party in Vegas.

I can only imagine how crazy it’s going to get in Vegas… You would think that the fact that my dad is going might make me feel better… but at my brother-in-law’s Bachelor party, my dad “put the boys to bed” as he puts it. While the 25-year-olds were asleep, my dad was still in party mode and drinking at 7am, and proceeded to work out at 8am. I think it’s safe to say that they’re going to have one hell of a time!

Drew recalls one of his friends saying, “I just booked my plane ticket to Vegas. Now let’s make The Hangover look like a Disney movie.”

{sigh} … ohh great.

And so, it is only fitting that I share these party photos from Hostess for the Mostess, inspired from The Hangover. Absolutely hilarious and perfect for a Vegas-themed party.

Necessities from the groom for the trip:

Under Armor duffle bags from Drew

Royal Flush from Fleur de Lis {a necessity for the hotel bathroom for all the guys!}

Oh My Goodness! Down & Dirty Hand Sanitizer from Fleur de Lis {need I say why?}

Chaser {the over-the-counter hangover found at local drugstores}

Hasta la vista, boys! Enjoy Vegas!

As for my Bachelorette party tomorrow night, I will give you a clue: inspiration from a popular TV show, animal print & bling!

{Pictures to be posted soon!}

something for the host{ess}

We all love to bring that perfect little something to say thank you for being such a lovely host and/or hostess. Well, here are a few host/hostess gifts we think are just great.

Jodi just bought our aunts and grandma pairs of Toms shoes {in one of her wedding accent colors} to show her gratitude for the nice bridal lunch they hosted for her upcoming wedding. So comfortable and cute.

Lisa at With Style and Grace has a brilliant idea for “morning after” hostess gifts – all the ingredients and recipes for a Bloody Mary and Mimosa cocktail –  beautifully presented, of course. Love it.

Martha Stewart Living has a fun and creative game{s} on gift. Games are a perfect gift for the host and/or hostess…and the newly married couple with no money that need to be spending most nights in throughout the week to save their pennies.

Martha also came through with the simple, yet great, idea of a bar in a box.

Get some funny cocktail napkins at Fleur de Lis {a paperie}.

Who doesn’t love a personalized gift? Monogrammed stationery from Fleur de Lis would be oh so thoughtful.

Buy the reader in your life a PSA Essential stamp {also available at Fleur de Lis} that he or she can stamp From the library of… inside the cover of all his/her books.
Or, give the host and/or hostess a PSA Essential stamp with his/her address.

bugalicious fun

My sweet babies turned 1-year-old and 3-years-old last week. This year’s party theme…bugs. Caterpillars, ants and worms, and ladybugs for our little lady.

I think it’s just the cute decor possibilities that lured me into throwing a bug party because I am the type to scream and panic when I see bugs, and the thought of anything crawling on me gives me the creeps. But, it was a really fun party for the kids. We did it on a budget this year, so although I would’ve liked to do a lot more, the credit card will thank me at the end of this month. 🙂

We served brunch – egg casserole, blueberry coffee cake, fruit skewers, a delicious french toast casserole and a yogurt bar along with a milk and juice {and champagne for mimosa’s for the adults} bar.

We served Potted Chocolate Mint Pudding with gummy worms in 1/2 pint mason jars and “bug candy” for dessert.

I found a frame with wire in the middle, and used it as a prop for photos on the yogurt bar. Jameson, ages 1, 2 and 3 were on display, and for Gabriella, months 1 through 12. I used numbered labels made by Jenna at Fleur de Lis, and used a hot glue gun to adhere them to clothes pins.

I tried the crepe paper weave, and it was super easy and cheap – 2 rolls of crepe paper for 97 cents each. Steal!

Caterpillars, made of balloons, made appearances throughout the inside and outside of the house.

Fleur de Lis designed all the paper products for the party including the adorable invite, water bottle labels, tags and toppers.

 We bought bug catchers from Michaels for each toddler and found bug-catching tools to place inside. Before everyone arrived, we hid candy and big fake bugs {from Walmart} in the backyard, so once we were ready, the kids were off on a bug hunting adventure.

Once they caught all the fake bugs, we released 2,000 live lady bugs {bought from O’Toole’s Garden Center} they caught in their catchers too.

Exciting news about all the cute paper products for this party – you can customize and purchase for your little ones at Fleur de Lis in Denver. If you don’t live in Denver, you can order through our etsy store here. All the stationery for this party is available for purchase. yay!
