DIY Valentines Projects and Decor

No matter how you choose to tell someone you love them, or how you choose to celebrate LOVE today, from the three of us to all of you, Happy Valentine’s Day. We’re sending our sincere love today and always, and we hope your day is filled with love. Whether it’s the passionate kind, the friendly kind or the much-needed love for yourself……make sure you tell someone you love them today.

Today, we’re in LOVE with the word LOVE {oh, and hearts too}

I am in LOVE with this project. Yes, it’s another Martha Stewart DIY, and you know I love those! It’s a must do for me, and Sasha from Everything Fabulous provides a wonderful tutorial here.

I’ve always loved these Anthropologie Monogrammed Mugs and when are put together to spell the word LOVE, my heart melts and I want to have them on display as a centerpiece in my home with beautiful fresh flowers. Wouldn’t you love to wake up to this everyday?

This Knotted in Love bridal shower, designed by A Subtle Revelry is so darling. Love the theme and the idea of spelling out LOVE all over the room, especially these colorful, DIY LOVE wrapped letters.

These heart-shaped milk cubes by A Subtle Revelry are so darn cute and easy! Plus, what a sweet surprise in your cup on Valentine’s Day.

when life give you lemons…

make lemonade…or at least something sweet with the lemons!

Last week I was into bright yellow sunshine and this week, it’s lemons. Apparently I’m into yellow right now. The cheerful hue has me day-dreaming about lemons, sunflowers and spring all day.

My grocery cart will be filled with lemons at my next trip to the grocery store {the lemon loaf looks too delicious not to make right now} and the next time I throw a party, I’m keeping lemons in mind. They make such sweet favors…no one will leave with a sour taste in their mouths.

 Homemade Limoncello, Matt Bites
We served Limencello at my wedding because 1. I’m Italian and 2. it was a fresh welcome to the party mini-drink. Although is was a hit, we should have more clearly expressed its potency or limited 1 per person…preventing some from passing out on a rock at 9 p.m. {wink, wink Nicole} :).
I love the idea of making homemade Limencello and sending it with guests as a favor…and with packaging as cute at Matt Bite’s who can resist? Giada DeLaurentis shares her homemade Limoncello recipe here. Salute!

Lemon drop candy, vintage bottle caps, small containers, ribbon and parchment paper make this DIY doable and adorable.

kathryn’s baby shower

Wish trees. DIY inspired. Yummy desserts. Mason jars. A beautiful neutral palette {gender of her baby was a surprise}.
Kathryn’s baby shower, hosted by her fabulous sisters, is just is too adorable not to share!

From Kathryn {owner and creator of the lovely Kathryn Giarratano Jewelry, which we love}… When people arrived, they took their name tag (circles w/ ducks), chose a pink or blue diaper pin, and pinned their gender guess on the appropriate board…

…The WISH tree had cards on the table that my sisters made that said random things like:
‘Dear Baby,
I hope you love___.
Love Always, ___’
It prompted several different things for people to say to the baby…I hope you love, laugh, aren’t afraid of, etc…

… fun striped straws and giraffe card holders. Yes, they served vodka to everyone else 😉 …

…The dessert table had:
{1} Chocolate-dipped marshmallows and pretzels
The polka-dot stand was made using a foam block and covering it with decorative paper. The foam holds the marshmallow sticks well.
{2} Cookies shaped like ducks and baby onesies
{3} Mini cupcakes
{4} Heart-shaped little cakes
These are a GREAT time-saving idea, and they’re super cute! You just buy a box of Oreo Cakesters and use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to make these sweet heart cakes. So easy!…

…As a party favor, my sisters decorated little mason jars, so people could go down the line at the candy bar and take some sweet treats to go…

… Baby Guiliana was born this past New Year’s Eve. She is absolutely beautiful, and knowing Kathryn’s fabulous style, she is going to be accessorized starting at a young age :). Congratulations to the new parents!
