passion for all things vintage

It’s no secret that we love ALL THINGS VINTAGE around here, so we are thrilled to introduce you to Colorado’s newest and finest collection of one-of-a-kind vintage pieces available for rent…at prices you can afford. Let us introduce you to A Vintage Affair Rentals.

We {the tre sorelle trio} recently sat down with the darling owner and creator of A Vintage Affair Rentals, Jessica Strong. Among weddings {she is a lovely bride}, creative photo shoots, wedding invites and her latest mouth-watering baking masterpieces…we discussed the need for a company like hers. Like many brides and planners, Jessica became frustrated with the lack of resources available for brides who wanted a vintage-inspired wedding, but didn’t want to break the bank.

Thus, A Vintage Affair Rentals was born.

The event decor rental company does not just supply brides with coveted antique pieces for their special day…photographers can rent items for engagement shoots, new moms can rent the vintage farmhouse scale for their newborn’s first photo session, and party planners can add that show stopping piece to any party.

From the large items such as the lemonade stand {also a perfect kissing booth}, charming white farm dresser and distressed door to the small items like wood crates, skeleton keys, milk glass vases and a gumball machine, her collection makes the modern woman long for a piece of something antique.

Visit Jessica’s site to see her growing collection and beautifully styled photo shoots. Her inventory will impress. She shared some of her pieces with us, photographed by the talented Laura Murray Photography.

knock knock

Who’s there?

Just me…admiring all the door inspiration.

After seeing all the door transformations today, I’m not closing the door on any door decorating possibilities.

Unique Headboard
{photo from Dreamy Whites…you’ll want to check out her site…the inspiration is definitely dreamy and gorgeous.}

Master Bed
{My in-laws make a talented team. My father-in-law and hubby work together at Gregg and Co. Builders and my mother-in-law is a fantastic interior designer. Together they build beautiful, warm and inviting homes. She and Jim built and designed a beautiful rustic ranch-style home several years ago. I have always loved the bed they designed and commissioned for the master bedroom. It was created by fastening aged Russian panel doors to antique wood posts with rusty metal door hardware.}

Dining Table
{Grace, the creative genius behind the popular Design*Sponge site, was on The Nate Berkus Show to highlight three projects from her new book Design*Sponge at Home. I fell in love with the dining room table made with an old door. I can’t find a good picture of the door from the show; however, Grace has a how-to tutorial from another door-made-table here. You can watch the video from The Nate Bekus Show here.}

Vintage Table
{I love the vintage vibe with the modern legs on this door-made-table from Content in a Cottage. You can find saw horses to use as table legs for under $20 at Ikea.}

Laundry Doors
{These cool doors were made to hide the washer and dryer. I just adore the details. Stop by Young House Love for more home inspiration.}

Sliding Barn Doors
{Sarah at Northwest Hospitality has the most beautiful home with classy and chic DIY projects. Visit here for more info and helpful tips when installing sliding doors.}

{I love the pop of color this yellow sliding barn door brings to the space.}

Coffee Table
{Sausha at Show and Tell is so talented and created this vintage coffee table from an old door…I have to say I’m impressed. Visit her site to learn how she did it and browse her pieces for sale.}

{I love the white rustic charm of this coffee table made from a reclaimed door.}

Wedding Decor
{Use old doors at your wedding to hang escort cards, in this case horseshoes. Beautiful.}

window display

Look at these gorgeous hanging antique window panes at weddings…omg!

I am a Mrs. now, so I can just daydream about wedding decor. But, I can incorporate an antique window pane in my home. I have one I bought years ago at an antique market that we just hung on our wall. It has great potential and I’m so excited about it. The dilemma is what exactly I should do with it. Here are the projects I’m contemplating.

One large photo behind the window pane. I just love this idea…

Individual pictures in window pane. I really like the look of all black and white photos.

Wallpaper window pane

Leave it as is and just hang on the wall.

What’s your vote? Leave a comment for me, or send me a new idea.
a. One large photo in the window pane
b. Individual photos in the window pane
c. Decorative wallpaper in the window pane
d. Leave the antique window pane as is

If you’re really crafty {I think these projects are above my DIY ability level right now}, these two window pane pieces are beautiful and unique…a coffee table and window pane wall divider.

crate and …

No, not Crate and Barrel {although I do love some of their things}. Just CRATES. I love this idea so much, it’s been added to my to do list…sorry honey {because knowing me, whether it be his helping hands or emotional support, my hubby will somehow be involved}. We could use some extra storage, and I love the vintage-feel of these crates.

Crates can serve as side tables and coffee tables too.

This vintage inspired crate-diy project from Hammers and High Heels is fantastic. Their how-to tips will have you hanging a vintage piece like this in no time {ok, some time}.

If you don’t need an entire shelving unit, make a couple to hold pretty pillows and throws. House of Smiths provide their own helpful tutorial to make these adorable crates.

And, if your getting married or just want a beautiful floral arrangement on your dining room table or anywhere in your home, these crates will add that shabby chic charm.
