DIY I Believe in Pink Birthday Gift

i believe in pink birthday gift_jsorelle

We can never get enough Audrey Hepburn, and we can never get enough of the color pink {correction: Jodi and Jessica can never get enough pink}. So, the two combined just made perfect sense. We love the Audrey Hepburn quote, “I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

So, we revamped the quote for a recent birthday gift. I believe in pink…and I believe in celebrating birthdays. We filled a black and pink metal box with all things pink you can find at a local big-box retailer such as pink chapstick, pink nail polish, pink polka dot straws, pink tic-tacs, a balloon with pink note on it, pink candles, a custom chalkboard matchbox {standard matchbox painted with chalkboard paint}, a Via Starbucks Refresher packet and a Chocolove Raspberries in dark chocolate bar.

As for the quote, we used our new favorite find, Sharpie Oil-Based Paints to write on the metal box with the help of Chacopaper transfer paper.

Whether it’s October, December, March or June, there’s always room for pink, which means you can give a gift like this year-round. We believe in pink! Do you?

The Most Comfortable and Colorful Leggings + giveaway

white plum leggings_jsorelleWe are sisters. We all have brown hair and brown eyes. We are all moms and wives. We have similar morals. We are all stubborn. We all love our family.

We are also VERY different. Our personalities are different, our body types are different and our styles are different. Jessica, unorganized and wanna-be-Martha, prefers to live in leggings, UGGS or tall, rider boots and long sleeve shirts {no itchy sweaters for her} throughout the winter. Jenna, super organized and total type-A, wears heels 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. She is obsessed with black and white. She loves to dress up and create her own trends. Jodi, honest and matter-of-fact, loves her leggings and yoga pants, bright colors and UGG boots; however she has had to dress a big, beautiful bump lately. Oh, and let’s not forget that Jessica will always have a tummy bump {I can totally relate to what Jennifer Garner said on Ellen…you go girl}, Jenna will always have a skinny, model-type body. Jodi will always need to manage her thunder thighs. Jessica and Jenna will always have flat, mom butts {until we make it a priority to change that} and Jodi will always have a bubble tush. It’s all who we are, and it’s what God gave us to work with and embrace.

Well, guess what? We all found one thing we love to wear – and we can all make it work to fit our body types personality. White Plum leggings. Ladies, let us tell you – they are heavenly. They are one size fits all…even a preggo mama, with an 8-month-big belly found them comfortable.

Jessica was fortunate enough to meet White Plum’s creator and founder, Hilary, and  social media guru, Liz, at Alt this summer. They were lovely. They had amazing business cards, and by business cards, we mean, a beautiful scarf and necklace. They were kind. They had a good, success story. And, even better, they sell great products at reasonable prices.

Lucky for y’all, White Plum is giving away a pair of leggings today. There is something for everyone – every color and pattern your fashionista mind can imagine. See the Rafflecopter information at the bottom of this post to enter.

Fall Party Ideas and Favors

fall harvest_astrobrightspapers

For us, fall is a time for football, family, crisp air, colorful leaves, scarecrows and fall harvest food such as apples, pumpkins and squash.

And, just like Anne of Green Gables, we, too, are so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers. So, we decided to celebrate all the things that make fall special…and we did it with Astrobrights Papers.

Honestly, {even with Jenna being obsessed with paper} we often overlook paper when it comes to party decor. We think about it for invitations and labels, but we forget that color paper can add creativity to every aspect of a party, from invitation to decor and table settings to favors. After our Fall Harvest party, we’ve come to the conclusion that…
1. We love Astrobrights Papers.
2. Color paper is a quick and cost-efficient way to customize and add color to any celebration.
3. Everyone needs to #ColorizeYourParty.

Here’s how you can #ColorizeYourParty for fall.

Fall #ColorizeYourParty Activity

  • Keep kids busy with a Dress Up the Scarecrows Activity. Find a scarecrow and clothing template like this, print on colorful Astrobrights Papers, then cut. The kids will feel so proud when their ‘art’ is on display too, so make sure to glue the scarecrows to a wooden popsicle stick, and stick them in a bale of hay.

Fall #ColorizeYourParty Favors

  • Find a cute way to display the favors. We found that the best way to display our favors was a rotating card holder, of course colorized with cut-out images of harvest foods and labeled with cut-out paper letters.
  • Spread the love, and harvest food with seeds inside DIY pumpkin, apple and squash seed packets. Here’s a free seed packet template and how-to instructions are below.
  • Share the beauty of fall by printing seasonal photos of fall on white Astrobrights Papers, and add your favorite quote  to make it a piece of art.
  • Share your most delicious fall recipes with DIY pumpkin, apple and squash recipe cards designed by one of our own, Jenna. Print the fall recipe cards with this free template.

Fall #ColorizeYourParty Decor

  • Create a colorful background. Since we loved the quote “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers” so much, we wanted it to be a main focus. We used our Silhouette electronic cutting tool to cut words from the quote out of yellow Astrobrights Papers, then taped an orange piece of paper behind it for a pop of color in the background.
  • A fall party wouldn’t be complete with colorful leaves, so make sure to layer and scatter paper leaves everywhere.
  • For a full harvest effect, create a Fall Market sign. Cut out paper pumpkins, squash, apples, letters and numbers and tape them to a vintage window pane so guests feel like they enjoying a stroll through a lovely fall market.
  • Incorporate seasonal crops such as apples, pumpkins, squash, sunflowers, lanterns and bales of hay.
