red, white & blue

Show your patriotism this 4th of July holiday, and celebrate our freedom with a little red, white and blue.

P.S. When I refer to ‘it’ below, I’m referring to red, white and blue!

1. Wear it

2. Bake it
Mini Cherry Pies by Country Living

3. Or, don’t bake it…this No-Bake Strawberry Blueberry Mini Cheesecake Trifle by Glorious Treats looks amazing

4. Plant it
My father-in-law built these planters with antique red barn wood, and my mother-in-law planted beautiful red, white and blue flowers

5. DIY it
I couldn’t sleep at 5 am today, so I woke up and thought of a quick and easy DIY project. I re-used Budweiser Platinum beer bottles my husband happily consumed last week. The base of this simple patriotic centerpiece is an antique piece of wood, the beer bottles are vases to red and white daisies, and I used a hot glue gun to attach a burlap ribbon with red stripes to decorate the bottles.

6. Hang it…and the tissue fans will look like fireworks, via Martha Stewart

7. Sip it
Red, White and Blue Sangria by Punchbowl

7. Most importantly, thank a soldier serving our country who fights everyday for our freedom. Among two of the many organizations are A Million Thanks and Operation Gratitude.

happy father’s day, dad

here’s to…

the first man we ever loved.

the one who taught us to always try our best and always have high expectations {to never settle}.

the one who makes our heart melt and eyes tear up just thinking about how much he means to us.

the calm presence and logical mind we needed in a house full of emotional {and fun} women.

happy father’s day, dad. we will always be daddy’s little girls. we love you.

xoxo
your girls

happy father’s day to all the men out there who work hard to provide for, protect and guide their children. and for those of you who lost your fathers – may their love and wisdom be with you today and always.

happy mother’s day

You are our sunshine,
Our only sunshine,
You make us happy when skies are grey,
You’ll never know dear,
How much we love you,
So, please don’t take our sunshine away.

To our mom, who we think is the greatest mom in the world. She gives of herself all the time, and if weren’t for her, we wouldn’t be the women we are today. We love you, mom!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing moms out there who teach profound wisdom, give selflessly and love unconditionally everyday!

DIY Valentines Projects and Decor

No matter how you choose to tell someone you love them, or how you choose to celebrate LOVE today, from the three of us to all of you, Happy Valentine’s Day. We’re sending our sincere love today and always, and we hope your day is filled with love. Whether it’s the passionate kind, the friendly kind or the much-needed love for yourself……make sure you tell someone you love them today.

Today, we’re in LOVE with the word LOVE {oh, and hearts too}

I am in LOVE with this project. Yes, it’s another Martha Stewart DIY, and you know I love those! It’s a must do for me, and Sasha from Everything Fabulous provides a wonderful tutorial here.

I’ve always loved these Anthropologie Monogrammed Mugs and when are put together to spell the word LOVE, my heart melts and I want to have them on display as a centerpiece in my home with beautiful fresh flowers. Wouldn’t you love to wake up to this everyday?

This Knotted in Love bridal shower, designed by A Subtle Revelry is so darling. Love the theme and the idea of spelling out LOVE all over the room, especially these colorful, DIY LOVE wrapped letters.

These heart-shaped milk cubes by A Subtle Revelry are so darn cute and easy! Plus, what a sweet surprise in your cup on Valentine’s Day.
