navy chevron {baby shower}

Not only was I honored to design and print invitations for this baby shower at Fleur de Lis, but I was even more honored to attend this special baby shower for my dear friend Leigh (an absolutely gorgeous preggo woman!) who is expecting her first baby in November. The shower was hosted by Lauren, also a beauty and good friend, and her sweet mother Dana.

This baby shower celebrated the joy felt for Leigh by her friends and family, and created the perfect vision for little baby boy Harkness’ nautical navy room. The chevron invitation and decor were so adorable, with splashes of yellow and nautical motifs – so bright, happy, and stylish! Every detail was perfect – the blueberries in the champagne, the navy and yellow chevron banners, the lemonade and blueberry cupcakes. Lauren also treated everyone to chevron-wrapped shower favors, and a fun bingo game. Guess what the mommy-to-be was going to receive for gifts, check off as she opened gifts, and win on the bingo board! Another special touch was the wishing tree. Guests filled out a wishing card for baby Henry and hung them on a tree. We can’t wait to meet the little cutie! Great job planning this shower Lauren! And we are so happy for you Leigh! xoxo

push gifts

I never heard of a ‘push gift’ until I had my first child. Now, I am fully aware, and a fan of the idea. Of course, a healthy baby is the ULTIMATE AND BEST gift, and second to that is help, love and emotional support from a partner…but if anyone deserves a little pampering, it’s a new mom who just survived labor!

For those of you who do not know what a “push gift” is, let me educate you…it’s a present your hubby or partner gets you for carrying and generally pushing the baby out (C-section moms definitely deserve one too).

I jokingly asked my hubby before the birth of our son, “What’s my push gift going to be?” At the time, he was building our first home, so he simply and confidently replied, “A house.”

Okay, so that was more than enough and I LOVE our home. It’s beautiful.

Well, now I’m a candidate for a “push gift” again as I just had our 3rd child. So, I’m on the look-out for that sweet, fabulous and WELL-DESERVED “push gift.”

Here’s what I came up with…

{I’d love to hear if you’ve received any great “push gifts” and what they were…please share!}

Diamond Stackable Band
If you have the budget for it, I love the idea of adding a diamond band above or below your wedding ring for every child, or designing a “mom ring” with all the children’s birthstones in one unique design.

Calendar Bracelet, Dalla Nonna Jewelry, $125
{necklaces available too}

Numeric Stackable Ring, Gorjana-Griffin {$30}
{buy the number of kids you have…or will have post birth}

Birth Photographer or Newborn Photography Session
{if she is open to people being in the delivery room, having a professional photographer capture all the unforgettable moments during labor and the first moments you meet your new baby is priceless}

If she is not open to having her birth documented, a newborn photography session is a wonderful gift idea and a nice way to capture a newborn sweet face, cuddle poses and the moments of sweet new life…which moms know doesn’t last long!

Art Date Print, The Memory Gallery via Etsy

Cartier Love Bracelet, $5,575
{a girl can dream, right?}

Designer Diaper Bag, Kate Spade, $348

name blocks

First, we fell in love with Jessica at Blue Bird Heaven’s printer drawers {remember this post} turned into antique and chic jewelry displays. Well, she has expanded her shop…and now it’s time to happily shop again!

Among her many selections my personal new faves are Jessica’s rolling pin hook racks , garden faucet hook racks, banister spindle bracelet display, wedding accessories and my new favorite shop section, block and key racks.

When Jenna and Will asked my hubby and me to be their son’s godparents, we were honored and joyfully accepted. My only dilemma for the new {and precious} little man…the perfect gift.

Combine everything I was looking for: Vintage + Custom + Keepsake + Unique = Custom Baby Block Rack by Blue Bird Heaven.

Dante’s nursery is grey, black and white, so per my request, Jessica used a distressed white board and painted the vintage baby blocks black. I loved the final product.

Not only are her products beautifully made, but her customer service is outstanding. She answers e-mails and orders promptly and makes sure you get your order in time.

I couldn’t be happier with my purchase for my sweet little nephew and godson…and I know his mommy and daddy like it too!

Hope you shop Blue Bird Heaven today! There’s a gift for everyone…even yourself!

mcbaby

As you know from following our blog, Jenna – the middle sister of the tre sorelle trio – was {fabulously} preggo the past 9 months. Well, things have been full of baby joy around here lately because Jenna and her wonderful hubby welcomed a beautiful baby boy a couple weeks ago. He is just adorable and he has already brought everyone in the family so much joy! He is a miracle and we love him so much.

Before Jenna went through 24+ hours of labor, she and Will spent a day with one of our faves, Meredith from Meredith Moran Photography, to capture her beautiful, growing belly. Only Jenna would still wear her heels 8 months preggo! 🙂

sip and see

Sip & See.

Definition: A meet and greet to introduce your new baby to the world.

My personal thoughts on a Sip & See party…genious! I love baby showers, but as beautiful as a preggo mama is at her shower, people love to hold a baby and say ‘ooh and ahh.’

It’s like show and tell, with the best gift of ALL…a sweet bambino.

I’m all about giving the new mom {and second, third or fourth-time moms} space to adjust to life as a new mom – let’s face it, her life has been turned upside down and all around…in a good way. Not to mention the hormones that will have her crying for no apparent reason. 🙂 I admit, I am one of those women who prefer to be left alone after having a baby – so I would need at least three months before I could do a Sip & See – but others are different and enjoy being around people after giving birth {and God bless you for that}. So, whatever time is right for you, make the time {or have a friend or mother, or mother-in-law make the time} to host a Sip & See.

I love this party at The Party Dress because its adorable, and, of course, has some fun cocktails for people to Sip while they See.

Tori Spelling threw a Sip & See shower for her friends, the famous “guncles,” with the adorable theme, Simple Simone after the baby girl’s name, Simone. Courtney as Pizzazzerie helped designed the logo.

I saved the best for last because I am IN LOVE with this MILKaholic Sip & See by Carrie Sellman of Half Baked {found at Hostess with the Mostess}. You HAVE to see more details of this party…the details are amazing!

The idea of making a diaper thoughts station is brilliant. Love it…also a great idea for a baby shower {with the baby still in mama’s belly}.
