Holiday Cross-Stitch Cards Workshop at West Elm

make-and-mingle-embroidery-west-elm-flowers

The Every Hostess and your truly hosted a lovely event at West Elm, Denver just in time for the holidays. We gathered to cross-stitch holiday cards, sip coffee and apple cider and snack on cheese, crackers and, of course, cookies! We made wonderful memories with old and new friends, and laughed as we crafted at our 2nd Make & Mingle workshop.

Thanks to everyone who joined us, and to Colby Elizabeth Photography who captured all the cross-stitching fun.

See the beautiful party in its entirety at Couture Colorado. You won’t want to miss all the pretty little details…and the big ass balloons, literally.

weekend goodness

  1. Jessica’s idea of a really fun night out-on-the-town was to learn how to make pie, and it didn’t involve a single glass of vino. Her husband looked at her like she was slightly nuts when she said she wanted to drive 2 hours to a pie workshop. But with a love for apple pie {thanks to grandma} and a workshop hosted by Lexy with Proper Pinwheel in the mix, there was no stopping her. The party was featured on Style Me Pretty Living, and its worth checking out, plus it has a delicious apple pie recipe just in time for the holidays. You will see Jessica in a photo or two, and her pie, covered in hearts, of course.
  2. We read this blog post and wept. Not only was it beautifully written, but it broke our hearts and inspired us at the same time. It served as a reminder for us to appreciate the precious time we have with our families, to understand the miracle that our children are and what an honor it is to watch them grow, and how blessed our lives really are. Oren Miller, you and your family are in our prayers. You’re amazing.
  3. Make it a priority to Pay it Forward this holiday season like this young boy and father did. Get the tissues out…again.
  4. We’re obsessed with antler and deer decor this holiday season, and when combined with mixed metallics, gold, greenery, wood and wine, we are “head over deers.” This holiday craft party is absolutely gorgeous!
  5. Conni sets the table beautifully for Thanksgiving. Perhaps you can gather some ideas for your own Thanksgiving celebration?

Have a lovely weekend, and stay warm.

holiday craft party ideas

Nothing sounds more fun to me than getting together with the ladies, sipping on some vino or bubbly, grubbing on a cheese plate and doing crafts! Seriously, my kind of party. Some talented bloggers recently hosted some fun parties we’re going to share with you today. Make a date, buy the supplies {don’t forget the wine} and have some DIY fun.

Melanie, a really talented blogger behind You Are My Fave {from Colorado like us}, let us share her Martha Stewart Holiday Craft Party idea with us. So cute, and looks like a great time. For a full tutorial, please visit You Are My Fave. Photos by Nicole Coleman.

Gather some old books, visit a library $1 book sale and host a DIY party to create a Book Pages Tree like Organized Clutter did.

Sugar and Cloth made an adorable Color Block Ornament Garland at their holiday party. See how here.

Paper {whites} hosted a lovely Holiday Craft party for her book club and the festivities included a cookie exchange, champagne sipping and gift tag creativity. Look at the goody bags below {I want} and look at more details here.
